Lemonade Day Promotes Kids Opening their Own Businesses Nothing combines better than a bright day and lemonade. Such was the set up on Saturday (5/2/2026) in Galveston and League City as more than 800 small businesses - AKA lemonade stands - were serving up a variety of lemonades, sweets and art. While all done as part of a summer tradition based on neighborhood kids setting up lemonade stands, Lemonade Day goes beyond that said Galveston County Lemonade Day Director Gina Spagnola. The day is preceded by business planning, sometimes with financial advisors who sponsor the event, There’s also an education component with curriculum approved by the Texas Education Agency.
