League City police car involved in crash after pursuit goes into La Marque Late Friday night (10/24/2025) League City police had a pursuit reach La Marque after an officer attempted to stop a vehicle on the Southbound main lanes of I-45 in League City. The pursuit lead officers to the exit at Holland Road in Texas City onto the feeder road, before the suspect vehicle eventually crashed into a ditch in the construction area near Delaney Road in La Marque. After crashing all 3 occupants of the vehicle bailed and fled on foot shortly before officers caught up, at which point they complied and were taken into custody. Another League City officer who was responding at code 3 (emergency speeds with lights and sirens), got into a crash with a Charter bus also in the construction area near Delaney Road. The charter bus only had the driver inside, and both the officer and the charter bus driver were transported by EMS to local hospitals. Both were seen conscious alert and breathing. While the 3 suspects were fleeing they could be seen tossing around a black bag amongst each other, which was later found to be narcotics according to Jose Ortega, the League City PD Public Information Officer in an interview. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was a 16 year old male, and the passengers were both 17 year olds. Their identities have not been released. While the League City Police Department is handling the pursuit investigation, the Galveston County Sheriff's Office will handle the crash investigation for the police unit and charter bus.
