Galveston County law enforcement pauses to honor 33 officers who were killed in the line of duty On Wednesday (5/14/2025) ,the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office hosted the National Police Week Galveston County Peace Officers Memorial Observance. The annual ceremony memorializes the 33 Galveston County Law Enforcement Officers, including two DPS troopers, who died in the line of duty since 1873.
