Annual Yagas cook off at Moody Gardens The grounds at Moody Gardens were busy on Saturday (5/10/2025) for the Yagas Wild Game Cook Off, where teams competed in a cook off to fund local charities. The cook off is a long standing tradition for Yagas, with this year being the 29th year the organization has held it, they also recently reached a total of $2,000,000 in contributions to support local children. Money raised at the event is given to the Yaga's Children's Fund, which supports children throughout Galveston County. 2025 was the first year there was a Junior Pit Masters competition, where kids 7-11, and 12-18 could compete in their own cook off. The event was open and free for the public to enter and meet and try food from the various cook teams.
