Marketing Director Kinley White of Yaga's Entertainment shared details about the jam-packed day, ensuring visitors that there will be something for everyone. The heart of the event is the chili cook-off, where 50 teams will serve up their unique chili recipes. Guests can sample a variety of styles, from classic to exotic, as teams vie for top honors in their respective categories. “You get to try and see how everybody’s cooking it up,” White explained, “and they’re competing to see who’s got the best regular or exotic chili.” While the streets are bustling with chili enthusiasts, indoors at Dargon and Tobin, a beer and spirits festival will offer samples of about 70 exclusive brews and spirits. Visitors can pair their drinks with pretzels, snacks, and other treats. White described this aspect of the event as “a little oasis for those who love craft beer and unique spirits.” Adding to the fun is a margarita contest sponsored by Pantalones Tequila. The event’s main stage will feature live entertainment, starting with the margarita contest at noon. From 1 to 2 p.m., the Mambo Jazz Kings will perform, bringing lively music to the festival. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m., recognizing the top chili, margaritas, and more. For attendees coming from nearby areas like Texas City or Dickinson, parking is conveniently available through metered street spots and cash lots surrounding the festival.
