Galveston Chamber to celebrate 180 years with Country Music Fest Drake Milligan, a rising star being called “the new Elvis of country music,” will headline the Second Annual Galveston Island Country Music Fest on January 25, 2025. The fest is being hosted by the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its 180 years of service as the oldest chamber of commerce in the state. The Galveston Island Convention Center will be transformed into a giant honky tonk for the event, including live music with Drake Milligan and the Powell Brothers, food, beverages and two mechanical bulls. The event will honor the Port of Galveston on its bicentennial and will present founding members, the Galveston/Texas City Pilots Association, with a heritage award created in their honor. In addition, the Galveston County Daily news will receive a pioneer’s award. Past chamber chair, Steve Conner, has been named the 2025 Galvestonian of the Year and will be recognized at the event.
