Texas City father-son duo facing charges after shooting * Police searching for offspring on aggravated assault charge A shooting during an argument January 5 in the Lone Trail Subdivision on Texas City’s west side led to the arrest of 53-year-old man and now a search for his 24-year old son. Police responded to a report of shots fired at a house in the 3200 block of Lone Trail Drive. When officers arrived, it was discovered that several shots were fired during the altercation. The accused shooter fled the scene, police said. Police did not say if anyone was injured in the shooting, but an aggravated assault with a deadly arrest warrant was issued for Jquan Lake, 24. Texas City detectives returned to the house early on the morning of January 10 with members of the department’s crime suppression unit and the special operations unit of the Texas Rangers to arrest Lake and search the house. Lake wasn’t there, but eight firearms were seized from the residence, including an unlicensed Class 3 firearm. Police did not specify which type of Class 3 weapons was seized. A Class 3 firearm was among the weapons seized. Class 3 weapons include automatic firearms, silencers, short-barreled shotguns, short-barreled rifles, and other weapons that are classified as regulated. Anyone in possession of such weapons is required to have a special license. Federal charges could also be filed in such cases. A photo of the seized weapons provided by police appears to show three short-barreled rifles. During the raid, police arrested Johnson Lake, 53, on outstanding municipal warrants.
