What is that big, yellow structure doing in the Port of Galveston? On Wednesday (01/08/2024), the Port of Galveston gained a new short-term vacationer. The 283 foot tall crane barge will be sitting pretty for the next 4-6 weeks at the Gulf Copper facilities. There, it will receive maintenance and a new paint job. The structure was successfully shepherded in by tugs and crews at the Port of Galveston. It is owned by T&T Marine and it is regularly used to lift entire cargo ships and off-shore oil rigs.
