Texas City gives a helping hand at annual Homeless Navigation Day Texas City gave a helping hand to those in need at the second annual Homeless Navigation Day on Thursday, on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at the Doyle Convention Center. Texas City Mayor, Dedrick Johnson, said, “I hope and desire for every citizen of the City of Texas City to understand that whether you have an address or whether you do not have an address, if you are in Texas City, you are still a resident.” Hosted by the Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness, the event brought resources and programs from throughout the community in a central location to offer such services as free haircuts, showers, health screenings, hygiene kits, court services, winter items, referral services and more to the city’s unsheltered population.
