Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau State of the Bay report shows economic impact of tourism in the bay area The Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) held their State of the Bay reception, for community leaders and business owners attended to discuss the status of tourism in the bay area. Most CVBs, are a city government entity, however the Bay Area Houston CVB is a nonprofit which covers multiple cities around Clear Lake including League City, Clear Lake Shores, and Seabrook. One of the businesses at the reception was Great Wolf Lodge, which is a water park and resort which is expected to open in September of this year. Jacqueline Stilwell, the Director of Sales for Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast, said that while they were a company with locations across the country, they also wanted to have ties with local area. The Bay Area Houston CVB was looking for more cities in the area to join their group, and continue to promote the bay area as a place to visit.
