Chuoke III pleads guilty, sentenced to 45 years in prison for murder of father KIMBLE COUNTY DA: “Tragedy for the entire family; they lost two family members.” Mitchell Chuoke III, charged with the May 2022 murder of his father Mitchell Chuoke Jr., pleaded guilty on Tuesday (3/26/2024) and was sentenced to 45 years in prison. Chuoke, son of the prominent Galveston County businessman and president of Chuoke plumbing, made the plea in the 452nd District Court in Junction, TX, as several of his family members seated on the front row in the courtroom. The guilty plea ends a tragic episode that shook two counties, Kimble County District Attorney Tonya Ahlschwede said. The Chuoke family were frequent visitors to the county, having had a ranch near Junction for many years. It was at that ranch where Chuoke III fatally shot his father. What led to the murder has yet to be made public. Ahlschwede did confirm that Chuoke III used a rifle to kill his father. The Texas Ranger who investigated the killing said Chuoke III confessed to deliberately shooting his father. After the sentencing, Chuoke III was escorted back to the Kimble County Jail, where he will remain until he is transferred to the Texas prison system. This developing story will be updated as more confirmed information is made available.
