Inflatables, pizza, games among attractions at Island Fest Galveston College held its annual Island Fest on Wednesday with hundreds of students and community members on hand to learn more about the programs offered by the college. In addition to several programs distributing information about their coursework, students were able to have some fun shooting hoops, riding an inflatable surfboard or any number of games sprawled out on the lawn outside the student center. There also were boxes upon boxes of pizza devoured along with soft drinks, water and other treats. The event was free of charge Wednesday (3/6/2024), lasting from late morning to early afternoon.
