The program was hosted at Dunbar Middle School in Dickinson, Texas. The School Principal, Brandi Peterson mentioned "to see the students outside of their academic talent and see them get on stage and become their role models like Kobe Bryant and Kamahal Harris was something really special to witness". Multiple awards were given out and the principal of the middle school received an award from NAACP which was the Freedom Fund Award 2024 and also the Empowering Education Award. Following the ceremony, Principle Peterson says "it is important for students to celebrate black history month especially at a historic campus like Dunbar. As it used to be a school for blacks only, history continues to flow throughout the campus. My mother attended when it was a school for blacks only and during the program today we honored those students who went to Dunbar pre integration and it's always important to recognize these individuals as well as have students be informed of their campus history and American History".
