Task Force busts 6 in Galveston drug & weapons ring Six men were arrested by a task force in connection to a drug & weapons ring in Galveston. The Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force arrested Steven Herrera, 21, Abel Martinez, 25, Nathaniel Montemayor, 19, Nathan Enciso, 22, Jesus Saenz, 49, and Omar Lopez Jr, 21. During the investigation, Herrera, Martinez, and Montemayor were named as suspects who were selling marijuana and THC wax in the 1000 block of 52nd Street in Galveston. The task force obtained arrest warrants, along with a search warrant for the residence. On Wednesday (2/7/2024), the task force, with assistance from the Galveston Police Department SWAT conducted a search and arrest of the men. SWAT was called in because of their criminal history. While preparing for the search, Montemayor, Herrera, and Martinez left the residence with Enciso in a vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and Herrera, Montemayor, and Martinez were arrested. Enciso was taken into custody because he did not have his driver’s license. A search of the car turned up 4.7 ounces of marijuana and 2 pistols. Herrera also had $2,800 in cash. Upon the search at the residence in the 1000 block of 52nd Street in Galveston, Saenz and Lopez Jr were found and arrested. A search of the residence turned up 364 grams of THC, 52 ounces of marijuana, 31 grams of cocaine, 628 grams of codeine, 1 gram of meth, 12 grams of THC wax, 4 pistols, and 4 rifles. One of the pistols was reported stolen out of Houston. Omar Lopez Jr was charged with 4 counts of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession of Marijuana, with bonds totaling to $760,000. Jesus Saenz was charged with 4 counts of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession of Marijuana, with bonds totaling to $760,000. Nathan Enciso was charged with Possession of Marijuana, No Driver’s License and Unlawful Carry of Weapon, with bonds totaling to $3,000. Steven Herrera was charged with 4 counts of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Possession of Marijuana, Theft of a Firearm, Delivery of Marijuana and an Immigration Hold, with bonds totaling to $830,000. Nathaniel Montemayor was charged with 4 counts of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Possession of Marijuana and Delivery of Marijuana, with bonds totaling to $770,000. Abel Martinez was charged with 4 counts of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Possession of Marijuana and Delivery of Marijuana, with bonds totaling to $770,000. All were transported to the County Jail.
