Rotary Club of Galveston talks Toys for Tots, Meals on Wheels during holiday season The Rotary Club of Galveston talked Wednesday (12/13/2023) about the importance of giving back to Galveston Island residents who are economically challenged this holiday season. Two of the programs talked about were Toys for Tots and Galveston Island Meals on Wheels. Toys for Tots is Marine Corps program where new and unopened toys and gifts are donated and given to underprivileged children for Christmas. The program dates back to 1991. Donation boxes labeled “Toys for Tots,” were placed around the island in different businesses. Get more information at galveston-tx.toysfortots.org Galveston Island Meals on Wheels is planning to feed more than 200 islanders this Christmas. ‘We have the capability of taking on more,’ said Lauren Millo, Executive Director for Galveston Island Meals on Wheels.
