Dickinson’s free Christmas light show set to open Thanksgiving weekend A free light show in Dickinson that has become a tradition for many families is set to open the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Dickinson Festival of Lights, which has been around for 26 years, is put on at Paul Hopkins Park. The show features about 2 million lights around the park that are put together by volunteers. When it opens, there will be photos with Santa, concession stands, a cookie decorating booth and more. While the lights are free, other items will have a cost. The Dickinson Festival of Light will open Saturday (11/25/2023) and then daily through the December 30, excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. You can come out on those days to see the lights, but no volunteers will be on property. Parking on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays will be at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church at 300 FM 517 E.
