LCPD: Juvenile in custody in connection to League City apartment complex shooting UPDATE 11:11 PM: League City police announced late Sunday the suspected gunman was a teen younger than 17. The juvenile was taken into custody Sunday night and faces aggravated assault charges. ••••• A League City man was sent to a hospital after he was shot Sunday (8/6/2023) afternoon. The shooting happened at about 5:19 PM in an area near the 100 block of Pecan Drive near Main Street in League City. As officers searched the area, a shooting victim was found nearby in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen on Main Street. After interviewing the man and some witnesses, police went to the Pecan Forest Village Townhouse apartment complex, 202 Pecan Drive in League City. There, officers found an apartment door with a bullet hole and a bullet casing in the parking lot. No weapon was found at the scene. The shooter was last seen fleeing in an unknown direction in a grey Nissan Altima. Police did not release a description of the shooter. The victim was hospitalized and treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The wound appeared superficial because the victim was released shortly after being treated in the emergency room, League City Public Information Officer Jose Ortega said.
