Vigil for family killed 1 year ago On August 6, 2022 a tragic accident took the lives of four innocent people at the intersection of Ave R and 33rd St. in Galveston. A drunk driver ran a stop sign and crashed into a golf cart with 4 people on it that were from Rosenberg. On Saturday August 5, 2023 locals and residents from Rosenberg came out for a Vigil that was held for the young men that passed away. Felipe Bentancur, 49; Kaisyn Bentancur, 4; Brailyn Cantu, 14; and Destiny Uvalle, 25 were the passengers on the golf cart and were tragically taken way too soon. Candles were lit, songs were played, flowers and pictures were placed on the ground at the intersection & families gathered around while members of the family spoke on how wonderful they were as people. The families said how hard it is to continue with everyday life after an event like this but they said they will never be forgotten.
